Silver Companion CIC is a Community Interest Company registered in England and
Wales. We operate a telephone and letter writing befriending service for older
people in Swansea. In this policy, 'we', 'us' and 'our' refers to Silver
Companion CIC. We are the data controller for the personal information we hold
about you.

2. What information we collect

We may collect the following types of personal information: name, address,
telephone number, email address, date of birth, health and wellbeing
information (where relevant to our service), emergency contact details, and
information about your circumstances provided as part of a referral or
volunteer application.

We use your personal information to: match volunteers with befriendees, manage
volunteer applications and training, process referrals and assess eligibility,
communicate with you about our service, comply with our legal and regulatory
obligations, and improve our services.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process personal data on the following legal bases: consent (where you have
given us explicit permission), legitimate interests (to operate our
befriending service effectively), legal obligation (where we are required to
process data by law), and vital interests (where processing is necessary to
protect someone's life).

We store personal information securely and take appropriate technical and
organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss or
destruction. We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the
purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law.

marketing purposes. We may share information with: statutory agencies (such as
social services or the police) where there is a safeguarding concern or legal
obligation, partner organisations involved in delivering our service, and our
IT and administrative service providers, who are bound by confidentiality
agreements.

request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your
information (subject to legal obligations), object to or restrict processing,
