Refer an older person to our free befriending service. We welcome referrals from professionals, families, and self-referrals.
Who can make a referral?
Anyone can refer an older person to Silver Companion — you don't need to be a professional. We accept referrals from GPs, social workers, district nurses, care workers, occupational therapists, family members, friends, neighbours, and the older person themselves.
Health & social care professionals
GPs, social workers, district nurses, occupational therapists, care home staff, and other professionals.
Family members & friends
If you're worried about an older relative or friend who is lonely or isolated, you can refer them with their consent.
Self-referral
Older people can refer themselves. If you'd like a befriender, please fill in the form or give us a call.
Who is eligible?
- Adults aged 60 or over
- Living in Swansea or the surrounding area
- Experiencing loneliness or social isolation
- Able to hold a telephone conversation
- Consent given by the person being referred
