Volunteer With Silver Companion

Give a few hours a month and make a real difference to an older person's life in Swansea.

What does a volunteer befriender do?

As a Silver Companion volunteer, you'll be matched with an older person in Swansea who would benefit from regular friendly contact. You'll make a telephone call once a week or fortnight, and write a handwritten letter each month — at a time that suits you, from the comfort of your own home.

Just 1–2 hours per month

We're looking for people who are:

  • Warm, patient, and a good listener
  • Reliable and able to commit to regular contact
  • Comfortable making telephone calls
  • Happy to write the occasional handwritten letter
  • Aged 18 or over
  • No previous experience or qualifications needed
