Give a few hours a month and make a real difference to an older person's life in Swansea.
What does a volunteer befriender do?
As a Silver Companion volunteer, you'll be matched with an older person in Swansea who would benefit from regular friendly contact. You'll make a telephone call once a week or fortnight, and write a handwritten letter each month — at a time that suits you, from the comfort of your own home.
We're looking for people who are:
- Warm, patient, and a good listener
- Reliable and able to commit to regular contact
- Comfortable making telephone calls
- Happy to write the occasional handwritten letter
- Aged 18 or over
- No previous experience or qualifications needed
